What was the initial spark or idea that led to the creation of "Revitalise?"

"Revitalise" was born out of a personal urge that a specific moment should be captured when, after all the challenges are over, we experience complete clarity and renewal. I wanted to make the track reflect this renewal- a feel-good, energetic track that would leave the listener with a sense of uplifted energy. The spark came when thinking about how music can soothe and change, and I wanted this track to be the soundtrack to that feeling.

Can you share any interesting or unique musical elements or production techniques used in this track?

In "Revitalise," I tinkered with a combination of organic and synthetic sounds to make a lot of things happen in the air. Vocal samples laid on top of very intricate drum patterns, set amidst ambient textures, go towards building an immersive experience. I also experimented with some sidechaining techniques to give the bassline some groove and movement for that revitalising feel.

What impact do you hope "Revitalise" will have on your audience?

I only hope that "Revitalise" encourages listeners to reach inwards and find inner strength during turbulent times. That this track will help remind them, no matter what might be happening around them at any given moment, they can always hit the pause button, reset their lives, and carry on in a different frame of mind. If someone listens to this track and finds motivation or uplift, then I have done my job.

Can you introduce yourself and share a bit about your journey into music production? How did you become a producer?

I'm Mac Summer, a Liquid Drum & Bass artist out of Auckland, New Zealand. My journey into music had its roots in reggae production, but over the years I was absolutely drawn to the more intricate rhythms and ethereal textures of Liquid Drum & Bass. Producing was kind of a natural progression for me, I guess, as I said, considering how much I love music and creating something a little different.  I would also spend hours trying out different sounds and techniques, always pushing myself further with the hope of evolving and refining my style.

The music industry is constantly evolving. How do you stay up-to-date with the latest production trends and technologies?

Now, the principle of staying updated is about being curious and open to learn. I am always experimenting with new software and tools, reading online forums, sharing information with other artists. I also keep my ear to emerging trends, though I try to find some balance between openness to novelty and staying true to my particular sound. Experimentation is key amid finding too often that the most innovative ideas come from mixing classic techniques with fresh approaches in as many ways as possible.
