What was the initial spark or idea that led to the creation of "Sheela-Na-Gig?"

I’ve been listening to PJ Harvey for quite some time. I have the PJ Harvey Peel Sessions on CD, and that compilation has some amazing songs, including “Sheela na gig.” We were driving from Pale Moon Ranch, where we recorded the album, to go get lunch, and the CD started playing in my car! As we were listening, we all thought it would make a great cover, so we did it!

How did you work with the producer or engineers to bring your vision for "Sheela-Na-Gig" to life?

We worked with producer Jose Alcantar to make the cover. One of my main goals with this cover was to have a pretty raw vocal track to show the emotion and power in the song, and I think we accomplished that pretty well.

How does this song fit into your overall artistic vision, and what can listeners expect from you in the future? What is the plan for the new album release?

The song is going to be an exclusive on our vinyl for the new album grage; I think the song fits our goal for the album and the message we want it to portray.

What inspired you to pursue a career in music with Doll Riot?

I love to sing and make music. Before the band, I would take my guitar to open mics and play, but I always wanted to have the companionship of a band, and when we formed Doll Riot and started writing music together, it felt right!

Can you share an instance where you felt a strong connection with the crowd during a show?

There have been many times the crowd has really connected with us. It’s amazing seeing people sing along to the lyrics we wrote, and I love getting the crowd to scream or sing into the mic with me. It makes for a fun and intimate connection!
