Feature: Adam + Attack by Fire Decodes “Chateau Clink”

How does "Chateau Clink" reflect your musical journey and growth as an artist?

I think that when I started recording songs, I was trying to emulate artists that I admired. At some point, I started to find my own sound. “Chateau Clink” is a good reflection of the type of music that I want to make at this point in my journey. Rock n' roll at its core but also quirky and somewhat avant-garde.

What was the initial spark or idea that led to the creation of "Chateau Clink?"

The opening guitar line came first and I built the rest of the song around it. The general theme of the song probably originated from watching too many true crime documentaries and podcasts.

What impact do you hope this song will have on your audience?

I don't think it's a particularly serious song. Parts of it are definitely tongue-in-cheek, even though the subject matter is a bit dark. I hope the audience finds the story somewhat interesting and appreciates that it's really just a fun little guitar-driven bop.

Can you tell us more about you as an artist?

I love making music. It brings me tremendous satisfaction. And I enjoy experimenting with different styles and genres. That keeps things interesting for me as an artist. I plan on writing and recording until it isn't fun anymore, which I hope is a long way out.

Do you have any specific techniques or methods for experimenting with sound or visuals?

When I am writing and recording songs, I have a very specific sound in my head. And it's fun trying to figure out how to bring that sound to life. Deciding which instrument will work best. Experimenting until it feels right. I've gotten much better at that over the years. Now when I release a song, for better or worse, it's how it is supposed to sound.
