Clash of Sun On the Making Of “Just a Habit”

What was the creative process like for this particular "Just a Habit?"

We played all instruments besides the piano live in a club and recorded the vocals afterwards in our rehearsal room. It was a premiere to us not to record part by part and we quite like the organic vibe and for the moment we'll stick to this way of recording.

Were there any memorable or standout moments during the recording sessions for "Just a Habit?"

The piano part was a bit tricky. We got a lot of ideas and sounds, but the final idea was created in the nick of time.

What did you enjoy most about making "Just a Habit?"

Groovy tunes are always a no brainer - you have to love them.

Can you tell us more about you as a band?

Starting out as a trio with a more desert rock influenced style like Californias legends Queens of the Stone Age, we released our debut longplayer „Hit it“ in 2011 and joined the local club scene. Our second EP was more like a trip through the desert which was followed by a time of reorientation which finally leads to a fresh beginning with new drum power and some extra guitar and vocal energy. We're kind of happy with our new sound - more blues and laid back elements are now to hear on the new 6-track EP „Overhaul“ which will arrive in the beginning of 2024.

How do you continuously grow and evolve as a band?

We're constantly creating new stuff and fresh songs are to be released at the end of the year. And of course we're hitting the stage this summer.
