Being Jane Lane On the Making Of ‘Ordinary Shell’
What was the creative process like for this particular album?
Usually someone brings some chords or a riff and we work the song through together, with every one adding their parts. ‘Ordinary Shell’ was not different in the process. We workshopped it in the basement where Ami and Teigan were living at the time, and recorded the demo for it there.
Were there any memorable or standout moments during the recording sessions for ‘Ordinary Shell?’
A memorable moment would have to be, harmonising with Jay Whalley from Frenzal Rhomb, who we recorded with.
What impact do you hope ‘Ordinary Shell’ will have on your audience?
We hope they can find something relatable in the song, and enjoy the music enough to make their bodies move.
Can you tell us more about you as a band?
We’re just four gals, who like to write and play music.
What do you enjoy most about performing live and connecting with your audience?
Playing live is our favourite part of being in a band, seeing the joy on people’s faces when you’re playing to them and the vibes that are exchanged is something you can’t really put I to words.
