What inspired you to write the lyrics/music for "Dare To Dream?"

Lewis: I was inspired to write the lyrics for “Dare To Dream” based on my personal experience of overcoming adversity. During the recording of the album, I had to undergo throat surgery, which posed a significant challenge to my ability to sing. Despite this setback, I was determined to not let it hinder my passion for music, and the completion of the album. “Dare To Dream” became a reflection of my journey, a testament to the power of resilience and the belief that we can conquer any obstacle that comes our way.

Guitarist, Tim, drew inspiration from various sources to write the music for “Dare To Dream.” One of the major influences for this song was the band The Smashing Pumpkins. He adores their unique blend of alternative rock and powerful guitar riffs, and he wanted to capture that same energy and intensity in our music.

Was there any challenge that you encountered while making the track?

Yes, there were some challenges encountered while writing the track. One of the challenges was getting the other band members to understand and connect with the initial idea. When the track was first introduced to the previous band members, they didn't quite grasp the concept or vibe of the song. However, when the track was played to Norm, our drummer, he immediately had a rough idea and understood the direction of the track.

How does "Dare To Dream" fit into your overall artistic vision?

I believe that “Dare To Dream” aligns perfectly with our overall artistic vision as a band. While the song may have dark undertones in its lyrics, it also carries a powerful message of hope. We strive to create music that resonates with people on a deep emotional level, and “Dare To Dream” does exactly that. It explores the struggles and challenges we face in life, but it also emphasises the importance of holding onto hope and never giving up. We want our music to be a source of inspiration and encouragement for our listeners, reminding them that even in the darkest moments, there is always a glimmer of hope.

Can you tell us more about you as a band?

We are based in Liverpool, a city known for its rich musical heritage. Our band consists of five members, each bringing their own expertise and passion to the mix. I take pride in commanding the vocals and delivering relatable lyrics, our skilled guitarists, Tim Cunningham and Matt Lawler, add depth and intensity to our sound with their incredible playing skills. Lucy Ellen, our talented bass player, lays down the foundation of our music with her groovy basslines. And last but not least, Norm Walker, our drummer, brings the rhythm and energy that drives our songs forward.

Our music can be described as a seamless fusion of post-grunge elements and the timeless allure of rock 'n' roll. We strive to create a sound that is both thrilling and deeply moving, drawing inspiration from various genres and eras of music. It is this blend of influences that creates our self-proclaimed genre of Alternative Groove-Rock.

What has been the most memorable experience or achievement in your music career so far?

Undoubtedly, one of our greatest achievements was when our music charted in the iTunes mainstream and alternative charts in the UK, France, and Italy. This recognition on such a prominent platform not only validated our hard work and dedication but also exposed our music to a wider audience. It was a proud moment for the entire band and a testament to the support and love we received from our fans.

If I had to choose the most memorable experience, it would undoubtedly be the collaboration with Kevin Martin from Candlebox. Having him feature on one of our tracks was a dream come true. The opportunity to speak to him on the phone and discuss our music was surreal and incredibly inspiring. Kevin's talent and influence on our musical journey cannot be overstated, and his involvement in our project remains a cherished memory.
