Artmade On Making Of “Forever”
How does "Forever" reflect your musical journey and growth as an artist?
Artmade has been playing together for over 20 years and you can hear a clear development in the sound where we have gotten better and better over the years. Today we are incredibly well-coordinated and work very well together, both on stage and in the studio. Over the years, we have also created a good circle of competent people around us. This means that we have the skills to run both big live gigs and also be very productive in the studio. The song “Forever” is the latest song we released and our EP RED is the best material we released so far in our career. “Forever” basically contains everything that Artmade stands for - joy of playing, guitar riffs, captivating rhythms, straight bass, vibrant chorus with energy.
Could you discuss the lyrical themes or messages conveyed in "Forever?"
There are always days that are heavier and worse, but with the help of your friends you always get back up! Friends are the most important thing there is and make the life go on.
How do you translate the essence and energy of "Forever" in a live performance?
Artmade has always excelled as a live band, we are at our best on stage when we have our amazing fans in front of us! We were very clear with when we were going to record this album that it would sound live and be uncluttered on the record. The song “Forever” was recorded live in the studio, when we then play it live the audience and the atmosphere give it even more momentum. We also have more musicians when we play live on stage, which means that all songs get a wider and bigger sound.
Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how you got started in music?
The band members met each other at school and from the very beginning became a live band with their music based on self-produced material. Over the years, the band has changed its lineup and had members come and go. However, the core of the band is still there and we think it's important that the roots are there from when the band started.
What are some of the biggest challenges you have faced as a musician, and how did you overcome them?
We've been working together for a very long time and keeping up the spark and delivering good music can be tough. Now we've had a period with a slightly slower pace, so to be fully up and running again with new material and live performances feels fantastic!
Another challenge is getting through the noise in the music flow. There are many bands online that are fighting to find listeners and new fans, but we feel that we have a new ignition and we get reports every day of new listeners and more streams and views on social media.
