Artist Spotligt: Meet Kadeus

What was the creative process like for this particular song?

The creative process for "Plan B" was all about exploring contrasts and blending different worlds. We started with the concept of self-recognition and stepping out of the shadows, which felt like the perfect fit for combining heavy bass elements with introspective lyrics. It’s a bit unconventional in the electronic world, but that’s exactly what excites us: challenging the idea of what Future Bass and Dubstep can be. We experimented with layering acoustic instruments, like guitars and an acoustic drum kit, with purely electronic sounds. This hybrid approach allows us to bridge the organic with the synthetic, creating a sound that feels both powerful and meaningful.

Were there any memorable or standout moments during the recording sessions for this single?

Mmhh, I think we really worked on the lyrics, because we have 9 different versions. Finding lyrics that matched what we wanted to say was complicated. We always try not to have lyrics that are too simple, but to go deeper, and sometimes you can get lost. As for the production, there were also several versions, and the challenge for Elio was to simplify, because in the future bass, the original style in which we come from, it's very common to “stack” and add more and more, but here we wanted the production to be well balanced, between full and empty :)

Is there a particular message or theme you hope listeners take away from "Plan B?”

With "Plan B," we hope listeners feel a sense of connection with the theme of finding oneself and stepping out of the shadows. We want the song to feel relatable, to make listeners reflect on their own journey of self-discovery. The lyrics and the music together aim to create a space where listeners can see a bit of themselves in the story. But beyond that, we also want people to feel the emotional depth we put into each part of the song. Our goal is that it resonates emotionally, regardless of where they are on their personal path.

How do you approach collaborations with other musicians or artists?

We love collabs! We love mixing visions, ideas and skills to make music with an original blend! We love it even more when the artist's style is very different from our own, so that the music has something unique about it.

Can you share a memorable experience from a collaboration that enriched your music?

We've made a lot of them, many of which never saw the light of day! But the most rewarding was with a rapper, when we mixed Dubstep and rap in our own way and created “Pays des rêves”. What was also cool was the moment of sharing, the studio sessions with someone you're getting to know, in the end he's almost become a friend.
