Artist Spotlight: Meet Suicide Puppets

Can you share any interesting or unique stories or perspectives in 'Beyond The Veil?'

It all started off with one single "Death Note". Our friend Josh Balz wanted to produce a song for us, so we finally went up to his studio (Legacy Recording) in Wilks-Barre Pennsylvania and recorded this one song. When writing "Death Note" we wanted to tell a story of a serial killer, but give it a twist. That twist being a member of the band is the serial killer. We sent the song out to get reviewed which led to us getting signed to M&O Music out of France and that’s how 'Beyond The Veil' was born.

How do you feel 'Beyond The Veil' represents your artistic identity?

We feel it really captures who we are as a band and our entire ethos. We consider ourselves an Industrial Goth Metal band and everything revolved around horror. 'Beyond The Veil' is just that. It’s like listening to a horror film.

What did you enjoy most about making 'Beyond The Veil?'

Going to Legacy Recording and working with Josh, Kyle and Eric. Great group of guys and very talented producers.

How would you describe your band's overall stage presence and the energy you bring to your live shows?

It is a very high-energy and sometimes immersive experience. We like to bring the horror aspect of our music with us on stage.

What has been the most memorable experience or achievement in your music career so far?

There have been many but I will narrow it down to two. The first being winners of back to back Best Metal Band award winners at the first and second annual Central Pennsylvania Music Awards (2019,2020) and the second was doing a US tour with Soulfly. That was an incredible experience. Dino from Fear Factory was playing guitar for Soulyfly on that tour so not only did we get to connect with the Cavaleras but we also made a connection with Dino.
