Artist Spotlight: Meet Sentience Machine

What was the initial spark or idea that led to the creation of "Human Stigma?"

Psibindi: I wrote the lyrics for “Human Stigma” in the wake of Brexit, as I was deeply disturbed by the division it caused and how populists portrayed immigration in a negative light. This song is my response, a call to embrace diversity and recognise our shared humanity. “Human Stigma” reminds us that we are all the same, navigating life with the same struggles, challenges and hopes, regardless of where we come from.

Were there any memorable or standout moments during the recording sessions for this song?

Psibindi: I recorded the vocals at the legendary Tileyard Studios with Adam Helal (known for his work with Dua Lipa and MNEK). The track was then mixed at Abbey Road Studios by Paul Pritchard (who has worked with The Vaccines and Wolf Alice).

What impact do you hope "Human Stigma" will have on your audience?

We hope “Human Stigma” inspires change, challenges perceptions, and ignites meaningful conversations. As a powerful anthem for diversity, we want the lyrics to provoke awareness and raise consciousness about the urgent need to end racism. Our goal is for the track to encourage reflection and action, fostering a deeper understanding of how embracing diversity can strengthen unity.

Can you tell us more about you as a band?

We share a common passion and dream: to create powerful music and take it on tour, connecting with fans along the way. As a band, we’ve been on a transformative journey for over five years, and through this process, we've discovered not only our true sound but also our deeper purpose. The experiences, challenges, and growth we've encountered have shaped our music and strengthened our bond as a band, pushing us to deliver more authentic and impactful work with every performance. We’re excited to continue evolving and sharing our unique story with the world.

Are there any specific themes or messages that you aim to convey through your music?

Our music is provocative because we aren’t afraid to tackle the most pressing social issues of our time. Each of our songs carries a message designed to inspire, challenge, and resonate deeply with audiences. With hard-hitting beats, raw lyrics, and unapologetically powerful energy, we aim to spark thought and stir emotions. We're not just making music, we’re starting conversations, pushing boundaries, and standing up for what we believe in. We’re here to make some noise, disrupt the norm, and leave a lasting impact on everyone who listens.
