Artist Spotlight: Meet Lexi Berg

Can you tell us about the inspiration behind "Lonely Satellite" and the story it tells?

"Lonely Satellite" explores the paradox of modern urban life where stars are hidden by planes and satellites, symbolizing our disconnection from nature and increasing isolation despite our digital connectivity. This song urges listeners to find perspective and peace by looking up at the sky, reminding us that true fulfillment comes from connection, love, and presence, not constant achievement. When looking up, we are reminded of the vastness of the world and our small place in it.

How did you work with the producer or engineers to bring your vision for this song to life?

Jim Eliot, known for his work with Ellie Goulding, Will Young, and Black Honey, invited me to Wales, where I met the amazing musicians Mary and Willow from Outpost Drive. Feeling lost in London, this escape inspired me to write 11 songs in just a few days. "Lonely Satellite" was a true collaboration, written outdoors, the four of us singing together with a guitar under an apple tree. We wanted the production to reflect that sense of freedom and community. The drums and choral gang vocals in the hook are meant to immerse the listener in that world.

How does "Lonely Satellite" fit into your overall artistic vision and what can listeners expect from you in the future?

"Lonely Satellite" is the first of many songs to come. Each song is different but shares a raw and real quality. I want listeners to sing along and feel that I'm speaking not just for myself, but for them as well. Future releases will continue to explore authentic, heartfelt themes.

How do you channel your emotions and connect with your audience during live performances?

Performing is a magical experience. I immerse myself in the music as deeply as possible and hope the audience feels it too. It’s about sharing the emotional journey and creating a genuine connection through each performance.

What has been one of the most significant moments of your musical journey so far?

My musical journey has had its ups and downs. But every part has been a learning experience. For me, working with other musicians is the most rewarding part of making music. Performing at venues like the O2 Arena and going on tour were obviously fantastic memories but I’ve learned the importance of surrounding oneself with good people. I strive to foster a collaborative environment where people support each other because I believe there is no limit to creativity when minds come together positively.
