Artist Spotlight: Meet Janeuary

What was the creative process like for this particular "Everest?"

This is a very special piece for me. I started to „paint“ this composition, using only the colors of my piano, cello and viola… But while recording it, I understood, that I wanted more and more „colors“. So I added more parts, more strings, accents, till it started to look complete. I compiled my own Everest step by step. Note by note. And never actually noticed, when I was already on a peak…

Were there any memorable or standout moments during the recording sessions for "Everest?"

Now, when you’re asking, I’m smiling, understanding, that my “Everest” was the composition, that caused my acquaintance with one of the best musicians, I ever worked with. And now, he’s my viola in every piece :)

What was your favorite moment in making the music video?

The journey itself! I didn’t go to base camp to make a music video. It just felt essential to me, to go there. And touch my mountain… The video simply “happened” to me, on the way… These are raw emotions, you can see.

How has your music evolved since you started as a singer-songwriter? What have been some key milestones in your artistic journey?

This is the favorite question of almost every music magazine, interesting…) And I have never got the answer, frankly speaking. I guess, because my music is very… diverse. I never know, what my head is going to produce the next moment… Whether a symphony or a ballad or some soft classical piano piece, or mind blowing rock beats, so…)
It’s up to my listeners to decide.

Are there any upcoming projects or releases that you are particularly excited about?

Oh yes. Yes. Definitely yes. I wrote the best composition in my life. And simply can’t wait to release it from the very bottom of my heart… I’m still working on it, but you will hear it in a month. I get warm sunset ocean waves all over my skin, when I listen even to the raw versions now…
