What is the creative process like?
For this project the creative process started by isolation. I removed myself from unnecessary people in my life. Spent a lot of time alone to process my previous year. I used this project to help alot of things make sense for myself. My brain was all over the place.
Were there any challenges or breakthrough moments during the songwriting process for '2StupidStories?'
I wrote the least I’ve ever written and freestyled most of both these songs. Feel like something cracked open when I was on the mic. I don’t make music the same way anymore.
How did you work with the producer or engineers to bring your vision for this EP to life?
Everyone had a fresh mind going into this. These records were actually supposed to be apart of a short film we were working on during the time. We set a concept and had reference films to watch during the beat making, recording and sound mixing. I won’t say what the movies are but I hope they’re felt.
What do you enjoy most about being a musician?
Everything. Recording is fun, it’s like therapy for me. But releasing a record is another feeling I can’t describe. It’s called a release for a reason, I just feel lighter when I record comes out. It helps me close a chapter in my life.
How do you continuously grow and evolve as an artist?
Living life is important. You need life experience to enhance your art in my opinion. It’s important to record a lot but never force it. I’ve learned the studio is a spiritual place and should be respected.
