Anna Thoresen On the Making Of “LIMIT”
What was the creative process like for this particular "LIMIT?"
There really was no official creative process. My friend Russell Hayden (producer/co-writer of “LIMIT”) and I decided to get together one day and screw around to see what we could come up with. He had already made the beat, and we just started writing over it and it was so much fun. There was no pressure to make anything perfect, and I think that energy really shines through in this track!
How does "LIMIT" fit into your overall artistic vision?
I love this song because it really emphasizes self-love and acceptance, which is a theme I’d like to continue on in future projects. I think the song is really fun yet there are some real lessons to unpack, which is also something I want to continue in future projects.
What are you most proud about this track?
The melodies! I think it’s my catchiest song yet :)
Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how you got started in music?
I started making music when I was 19 out of boredom in my dorm room. I was an Acting major at the time and was trying to make a career out of that, so music was just a hobby. I ended up loving it so much that I decided to commit all of my time and energy to it.
How do you continuously grow and evolve as an artist?
Good question, I’m still trying to figure that out! Evolution is a journey that you cannot predict, so truly my answer is that I don’t know right now. However, what I do know is that I will never stop creating music and growing through it!
