Alex Kilroy Releases “House of The Rising Sun”
Is there a particular ethos behind the single/EP/album or any particular music styles or events that inspired it?
We performed our version of The House of The Rising Sun at the Levitt Amp Music Series in Middlesboro, Kentucky. We had a great feedback from the audience and after the show we learned that the song was recorded for the very first time in 1937 by Georgia Turner not far away from where the stage was. One of the organizers suggested that we should cut and release our version of the song and so we did.
Can you briefly describe what the song/each song is about? If you are releasing an album then either describe the thinking behind the project or choose a couple of lead tracks to focus on.
It's a classic folk American song and we put our spin on it. We made it 7 min long with guitar solos for days. hahaha
Where was the single/EP/album recorded and who was involved in its production?
We recorded the single at Schematic Studio in Nashville, TN. Josh Millman co-produced the single together with Alex Kilroy.
Who are the band members and what do they play?
Jason Hartless - Drums Lauren Scheff - Bass Justin Brown - Keys
Have you played any notable gigs, festivals or other events? Likewise radio or TV appearances?
