Abhoth On the Making Of ‘Abhoth EP’

What was the creative process like for this particular 'Abhoth EP?'

Isolation was an extremely necessary factor. I was able to find an abandoned hair salon in North Brunswick New Jersey in which I spent several days perfecting the songs.

Were there any memorable or standout moments during the recording sessions for 'Abhoth EP?'

I'm currently healing from an infection on my foot when I stepped on a loose nail while recording.

Which track(s) from the EP do you think best represents your artistic vision?

“The Soil” is exemplifies the project because it expresses the pleasures of being buried under the ground.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how you got started in music?

‘Abhoth’ is my first solo endeavor. I've been playing in bands for the past decade but this is my first dalliance in black metal. I needed to create music that was more caustic and punishing.

How do you translate your inspirations into musical ideas and compositions?

The black metal tracks I specifically try to make as inhospitable to the listener as possible. The ambient tracks are recorded specifically after 24 without sleep to best capture the feeling of drifting between different realities.
