KAYBLE “Wise Man”

“Wise Man” is probably one of the best songs from KAYBLE yet. Through the stunning soundscapes, a slow-burn but intense built-up revolves around the intoxicating melodies. KAYBLE’s most revealing vocals detail the struggles and conflicts of emotions, but not without a touch of sensitivity. Epic and hauntingly beautiful, “Wise Man” is a song you’d come back to again even after a hundred times of listening.

KAYBLE has a unique aesthetic that stays true in all his songs. As an artist who is also a perfectionist, the amount of details and subtleties one could pick up from in his music is just incredible. In “Wise Man,” the way he tears himself up and draws out all the pain and sadness, weaving them with intricate, emotive sonics earns your respect. You’d know that he’s the kind of artist who’d give himself fully to his art, and the art that is born from that goes beyond words.

The Swindon-based artist revealed that he’s currently working on an EP about the five stages of grief. Read our interview where we talk about the challenges he encountered writing “Wise Man,” his influences and plans for this year.

Punk Head: I love how intense and vulnerable your songs can be. What are some challenges you have overcome while working on your creative projects?

KAYBLE: Thank you! I definitely don’t write easy listening background music that’s for sure! The biggest challenge I faced with ‘Wise Man’ was definitely how vulnerable it gets, I still don’t really know if I made the right decision but I think I’d kick myself if I shied away from expressing all the emotions. I had a big panic just before release but my close friends reassured me it would be absolutely fine, and to be honest it has! Outside of that, perfectionism usually has me by the balls—so that’s tough but I just have to practice patience and self love.

PH: What are you most proud about this track?

KAYBLE: Very specific but I’m most proud of the 808 hits (never done them before), the mix in general (self-produced) and the bridge. This is my favourite bridge I’ve written for sure. I even dished out a contract for licensing use of the sample - even though I didn’t really have to, it felt like a proud moment and like I’ve shifted gears to professional musicianship.

PH: What’s your goal this year?

KAYBLE: My goal this year is to release an EP. I have it written so I have to make it happen, it’s going to be wonderful. It essentially covers the 5 stages of grief.

PH: Who are you listening to at the moment?

KAYBLE: Right now I’m listening to a lot of Quadeca, metro boomin, and stray from the path. Quite the range.

PH: What is the one thing that you’d like your fans to know about you?

KAYBLE: To anyone reading this, I’d like you to know that I’m thankful for you taking the time to read this far into the interview :) In fact, send me a message so I can thank you personally.
