Horizonte Lied “Zona Prohibida (Remastered Edition)”

Setting the scene in a dark, industrial sonic tunnel, “Zona Prohibida” spirals through the endlessly rolling engine of consumerism, carrying a conscious message of the viscous side of capitalism and how hypocrisy plays a part in our lives. Horizonte Lied brings us the remastered version of one of their first songs ever written, reconnecting to the Mexico-based long celebrated underground band’s iconic sound.

Emotive synth meets darkly roasted soundscapes, “Zona Prohibida” draws influence from classic synth pop and industrial electronic with the likes of Depeche Mode and Nine Inch Nails. Hauntingly mesmerizing synth licks bounce in a sort of mess and chaos like fire blazing in the darkness. The contrast in the track is concerning but highly sensitive.

The instrumental track of “Zona Prohibida” focuses more on the danceable, atmospheric aspect of the track, while the full version delivers a highly conscious lyricism that bear weights and heaviness. The track is deeply evocative and emotive when you seek to make a more personal connection. To place it in a club, it also transcend the space into its own sonic design where you can fully be immersed.

The nostalgic, retro flair in the track is as authentic as if they walked through a tunnel of time into the modern surrounding. There’s this quality of glitch with an edge along with a vibrant carnival-like energy that really seems to come from a different space and time. At the same time, the palpable sonics portray an industrial environment so vividly and powerfully.
