GOOW ‘Luminescent’

Inspired by the noise and sounds, fleeting feelings and gorgeous sceneries, unreal and otherwise, GOOW brings an intricate immersive epic into his sonics and storytelling. Fused by London dubstep, trip-hop and avant-garde aesthetic, Luminescent revolves around the drastic and magnificent ocean and its monsters. Beauty meets horror in a stirringly picturesque soundscape, created with a keen heart, imagination and curiosity, Luminescent brings a world into your ears.

“Submerged” is a awe-filled dive into an ancient and unknown world. The wonder and otherworldliness draws you in, but the deeper you go, the further away you are from the world above. Darkness storms in along isolation and fear. The nuanced track calls back to these scenarios vividly, as if you’re truly there underwater.

Inspired by the painting Sunrise with Sea Monsters, “Sunrise and Monsters” creates an abstract sense of ambiguity and conflict. Beauty and horror is now in a different shade of light, with the hopefulness and brightness of the break of the day meeting the coming-to-light of the sea monsters. Intimidating but also spectacular. His music draws attention to the beauty that’s hidden in plain sight and conveys an admiration for nature, imagination, and the strange creatures that live in between.

Luminescent is created and produced entirely by multi-instrumentalist Egor Efimuk, who is the mastermind behind GOOW.
