5 Q&A With The Unsundered

How did you come up with the theme?

Seeking humanity is a line in one of our tracks included in this EP. It is in Cirque des USA and that's why we have that as the first track. We picked these five songs to include as we feel they encapsulate different offerings into the human experience. To us, seeking humanity, or seeking out what it means to be human, is at it's core something sublime and unique to our experience here on Earth. The tracks on this EP explore middle and lower-class frustrations, love and sex, anger and seeking knowledge.

Were there any memorable or standout moments during the recording sessions for ‘Seeking Humanity?’

The entire process of recording this album was a memorable standout moment, to be honest. This is the first time any of us have been in a studio and properly recorded any piece of music. It was a lot of hard work and equally rewarding.

Which song(s) from 'Seeking Humanity' do you think best represents your artistic vision?

I think all five tracks offer equal parts of representation in regards to our artistic vision. We are often asked "what kind of music do you play," and we don't quite know how to answer. The three of us agree that it is rock, but we have been told some of our offerings sound like punk, garage rock or grunge. We have never had a want or need to sound a certain way and we just make music we like. The songs on ‘Seeking Humanity’ represent the eclectic blend of the music we create.

What is your creative vision as a band?

Our vision is to share our thoughts and experiences with others, and to hopefully make people laugh and dance in the process! We try not to take ourselves too seriously as this project is mostly about creating music which people may identify with.

What are some of the biggest challenges you have faced as a band, and how did you overcome them?

We often joke about how lucky we are to have found each other. We all get along really well and respect each other's input and ideas. It will probably sound pretty underwhelming, but our biggest issues have been scheduling band stuff around the rest of the things we have going on in our lives. We're pretty chill dudes. We are working on streamlining everything with mixed results, so I guess we are still in the process of overcoming this challenge.
