23 Fields On the Making Of “Jack”

Can you tell us about the inspiration behind "Jack" and the story it tells?

It's basically about growing up, how harsh kids can be and that everything turns out ok, I can do a lot of things but am the master of none.

How did you work with the producer or engineers to bring your vision for "Jack" to life?

We recorded it and sent it over, left it completely in his hands!

What did you enjoy most about making this track?

It's one song we all enjoy playing and the audience always seems to like it as well, which is always a bonus!

What inspired you to pursue a career in music?

I've always enjoyed playing and listening to music but it was always in the background and my career as a nurse was the more sensible option but now in my mid-40s I'm more comfortable than ever writing new material and performing.

Is there a specific song that holds a particularly special meaning to you? Can you share the story behind it?

“Dear Family” from our 1st album ‘The World Is Raining,’ I wrote it during the 1st lockdown as I couldn't visit family, etc.
