Millie Bobby Brown is releasing a WWII YA novel titled Nineteen Steps.

Nineteen Steps will be the Stranger Things star’s debut novel. She took to Instagram for the announcement, teasing an epic read set in WWII. “Nineteen Steps is a historical novel about an amazing, courageous 18-year-old woman called Nellie Morris, who lives with her family in Bethnal Green, in London’s East End, while the Second World War rages on around them. When a tragic accident occurs during an air raid one night, the consequences are catastrophic — and life will never be the same again for Nellie.”

The actor has worked with a ghostwriter for her upcoming book release. The Girl With the Emerald Flag author, Kathleen McGurl, confirmed her involvement in the project. “I was asked by my publisher if I would consider collaborating with a celebrity writing a novel, and after due consideration, I agreed to do it,” the author wrote in a blog post.

McGurl has written several historical novels. She revealed that the reason she agreed to pen Nineteen Steps was because of its intriguing plot and how it’s inspired by Brown’s family stories. “The premise of the novel intrigued me – a tragic event during World War II, set in the East End of London, and inspired by family stories recalled by the celebrity’s grandmother. And it was a new challenge for me.”

“Inspired by my Nanny Ruth, this book is very personal and close to my heart,” said Brown. According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, Brown’s grandmother Ruth is a survivor of the Bethnal Green tube disaster.

Nineteen Steps is set to release on Sept. 12.
