Taylor Swift is working on re-recording her 2016 album Reputation, and the announcement came through a snippet of “Look What You Made Me Do (Taylor’s Version)” from the new trailer for Prime Video’s six-part thriller series Wilderness.

The series, which will arrive on Sept. 15, tells a story about betrayal, revenge, and transformation. Liv’s (Jenna Coleman) “happily-ever-after” turns into a nightmare when she discovers that her husband Will (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) is having an affair. The couple then heads out on a road trip with different ideas in mind — one thinking about making amends, one contemplating revenge.

Needless to say, Swift’s Reputation song fits perfectly into the narrative. Her 2016 album also marked a huge transformation in the singer-songwriter’s career as she began to embrace everything that worked against her in her own storytelling.

The singer-songwriter has a track record of previewing re-recordings through TV and movie trailers. She offered the first glimpse of her 1989 song “Wildest Dreams” in a Spirit Untamed trailer in 2021, and “Back To December” was featured in the season 2 trailer of The Summer I Turned Pretty.

On Oct. 27, 2003, the ninth anniversary of the original 1989, Swift is set to release Taylor’s Version with five secret songs from the vault. “I can’t believe they were ever left behind,” she wrote on social media. She also described this album as her “most FAVORITE” re-recording so far.
