Dave Asher “New Reality”

Inspired by the delicate piano that plays in the background of emotive scenes in films and TV, “New Reality” is an improvised piano track by Dave Asher, who is known for his spontaneity and creative way around the piano. The track was recorded in Asher’s home studio in Chicago.

His improvised piano lies somewhere between vacancy and introspective soundtracks. At times, you could feel his soul singing through his fingertips, and at times, the thoughts that run through his mind that were unintentionally channeled into the melodies fascinate you.

“New Reality” evokes a sense of calmness that feels spiritual and healing. The melodies, textures, and stories that naturally flow through Dave Asher’s fingertips have a deep concentration of energy that cleanses the atmosphere and clears the mind.

Growing up in a small town, Piano has always been a part of Dave Asher’s life though he never formally learned how to read music. In the apartment that he stayed in Amsterdam while pursuing a career as a comedic improviser, he began experimenting with recording music in a home studio that he built around the piano that came with the apartment.

When he returned to America in 2005, the artist started diving deep into other genres including electronica, psychedelic, alternative, and singer-songwriter. At the beginning of 2022, David began releasing instrumental tracks while maintaining several side projects including existands, Melody Nife, and Signs of Site.
