Nasti “Couchsurfing”

Nasti is an artist hard to miss. Of course, every hip-hop artist tend to have their own thing that separates them from the others. Some may work towards a goal for a long time to establish their sound, however, a rare amount of others simply have something different to offer from the start, and they own it proudly. Nasti is the later kind of artist. It seems obvious that he has something unique in his vocal style that others simply can’t take it away from or try to imitate.

One name instantly pops up upon listening to Nasti’s “Couchsurfing” is ArrDee, although the two of them have very distinct vocal styles. Just like ArrDee, who sounds so different from what audiences in the hip hop scene is used to hearing, Nasti is bringing a unique rapping style and a new palette of sounds into the scene. The emotions in his storytelling feel more exposed in a wrenching yet relatable manner. It’s honest but not raw. Its authenticity to who he is and what he has bring through in his naturally special vocal tone creates a strong connection with his listeners that instantly make all other songs lose their colors.

“Couchsurfing” marks the third release from the emerging hip hop artist Nasti. The single also serves as a prelude to his upcoming EP Crowd Pleaser. The song adheres Nasti’s minimalistic yet efficient music style: a hauntingly atmospheric melodic backdrop on the repeat, accompanied with nuance in the mood change, amplifying Nasti’s unique storytelling.

Though in the sense of form, “Couchsurfing” is not unlike his previous releases, the song takes a darker and more emotive turn, illustrating a whole new sensation channeled through Nasti’s songwriting. After the sensitive “Roses” and eerie “Triple Time,” “Couchsurfing” gives out an introspective vibe.
