DOVE-i On the Making Of ‘It's Pop Fiction’

What was the initial spark or idea that led to the creation of 'It's Pop Fiction?'

In this very special period when the world is in turmoil, this opus is in a way the original soundtrack of a movie that nobody would have imagined, with the collaboration of talents from all over the world.

How did you work with the producer or engineers to bring your vision for this album to life?

We produced and mixed the album ourselves in our own studio. We had a very precise idea of the sound we wanted.

What did you enjoy most about making 'It's Pop Fiction?'

What we enjoyed most was being able to record with a real orchestra. These studio sessions were extraordinary.

Then there was the opportunity to exchange ideas with featuring artists from all over the world, so that everyone could bring a little of their own talent and personality to the project.

How do you translate your inspirations into musical ideas and compositions?

We wanted a truly cinematic album where each track could be the soundtrack to a film. The lyrics also had to tell real stories.

As an act of resilience through art, the songs address deep questions, anchored in the reality of this new decade: inner metamorphosis, artistic questioning, love renewal, identity at the time of the Black Lives Matter movement, richness of the differences, the Earth that we leave to the future generations...

Can you share a memorable experience working with other musicians to realize your musical vision?

The studio sessions with the orchestra, when all the scores suddenly come to life.

And the shooting of two clips, "La Révolution" and "Métamorphose", which are real short films.
