Doron Karavani On the Making Of “Only Love”
What was the creative process like for this particular single?
Most of the time I get the feeling to create a song when I'm feeling down. at the time when making “Only Love” it was a strange situation with the pandemic... Times that affected everyone globally in a strange way as no one was expecting anything like it. “Only Love” came to me at the time and later I recorded the song spontaneously at my good friend Kalevi Louhivuori's home studio.
Could you discuss the lyrical themes or messages conveyed in "Only Love?"
“Only Love” Is not a direct love song to a woman or a materialized thing. It's about the love which we should all have towards everything and once we can apply it life becomes just full of love towards everything we do. Love is the miracle of life.
What was your favorite moment in making the music video?
Finding the great grey owl :) It's very rare.
Can you tell us more about you as a duo?
Me and my friend Kalevi are very good friends. Kalevi is multi-talented and he plays many instruments. When I visited him at the time of recording it was a cold winter day and the feeling just got us to record the song. Kalevi is also playing on my coming album ‘time to rise’ that will be out in November.
How do you balance crafting relatable stories with maintaining your unique voice as a songwriter?
I honestly don't know how I do what I do. It just comes to me.
